Robbinsville – Known regionally as one of the toughest tournaments of the season, Saturday’s James Orr Invitational certainly lived up to the hype. The annual showcase – hosted by Robbinsville – brought 15 teams into Graham County, including schools from Georgia and Tennessee.

Robbinsville – Amidst a hectic week – filled with conference matches aplenty – Robbinsville wrestling rose to the occasion. The Knights disposed of Murphy 74-6 and Hayesville 60-17 in a Cherokee County tri-match Jan. 9, before traveling to Rosman and downing the Tigers 75-6.

Robbinsville competes in dual, tournament

The Robbinsville wrestling teams split its duties Saturday, with one crew traveling to the Enka Duals and another taking part in the Osley B. Saunooke Tournament at Cherokee. Robbinsville went 2-3 at the Enka Duals.

Robbinsville – The Knights just wrapped up a stretch of three grueling encounters in a span of five days. After sweeping a tri-match at Mitchell on Dec. 5, the Black Knights traveled to the NEO Invitational at Tuscola on Saturday and capped the run with a home match against Fannin County, Ga.

Robbinsville High to induct 4 new candidates

Robbinsville – Four new inductees have been selected for the Robbinsville High School Hall of Fame. Both the 1970 and 1973 state championship football teams, as well as Weston Haney and Terry Trost, will be inducted into the esteemed class at halftime of Friday’s home game against Swain County.
