Diane Adams, 73 of the Long Creek community of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Lyle Grindstaff (Doris) and Opal Hice Moose (Earl).

Olen “Tucker” Long

Olen “Tucker” Long, 77 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at Angel Medical Center in Franklin, N.C. He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Johnny Luther and Lille Mae Campbell Long.

Virda Lois Myers Elliott

Virda Lois Myers Elliott, 95, made her heavenly journey on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at Graham Healthcare Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since 2016. Virda was the daughter of the late Jake and Vina Myers of Yellow Creek community of Robbinsville, N.C.

God gained an angel Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 when Vicky Jo Cornett, 50, entered heaven, after a long battle with cancer. She passed away with Nolan, Debbie, Ransom and Mason by her side at home in Robbinsville, N.C.

Carlos “Wooly” Orr, 81 of Robbinsville, N.C. passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Robbinsville, N.C. He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Floyd and Lily Jordan Orr.

Tosha Lynn McCarter

Tosha Lynn McCarter, 35 of Sevierville, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Robbinsville, N.C. and a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. She worked as a CNA and loved helping anyone in need. She loved her husband and her daughters.

The beat goes on

Robbinsville – As its first marching season under a new director draws to a close, the Black Knight band has experienced several milestones. The band ended its semester playing a holiday music program Tuesday night, after marching in the Gatlinburg, Tenn. Christmas parade earlier in the month.

Rex Laverne Sellers

Rex Laverne Sellers, 60 of Robbinsville, N.C. passed away, Monday, Nov. 28, 2021. He was a native of Graham County and the son of Edward Sellers and the late Dorothy Odom Sellers. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra “Cookie” Stewart and Donna Elaine Sellers.

James Pringle Ewing

James Pringle Ewing, 80 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021. He was 80. James was born Nov. 16, 1941, to the late Margaret McMurray Ewing and John Ewing in Philadelphia, Pa. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
