Halloween, Christmas events confirmed for town

Robbinsville – The Robbinsville Tourism Authority held its monthly meeting Monday, discussing items such as Trunk or Treat, the Passport to Adventure, and Christmas events: * Two Trunk or Treat events will take place Saturday, Oct. 30.

Pamela Denise Patterson

Pamela Denise Patterson, 51 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at her residence, after a long fight with lung disease. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of D.L. and Margaret Orr.

Michael Oliver

Michael Thomas Oliver, 42 of the Sweetwater Community in Robbinsville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Atrium Health in Charlotte, N.C. He was the son of the late George and Margaret Hooper Oliver.

Jason Best

Jason Best, 37 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn.   He was a native of Graham County and the son of Nettie Blevins Jordan.

Kenneth Rogers

Kenneth Rogers, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at his home after an extended illness of lung cancer. He was a lifelong resident of Robbinsville, N.C. and was a member and Deacon of Blessed Hope Baptist Church.

Cora Lee Shook

Cora Lee Riddle Shook, 80 of Andrews, N.C. – formerly of Robbinsville, N.C. – went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital in Murphy, N.C. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late John and Maude Wiggins Riddle.

Billy Pressley

Billy Jay Pressley, 65 of the Dick Branch Community in Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at his residence. A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Johnny and Nellie Roselle Waldroup Pressley.

Roy Perron

Roy E. Perron, 68 of the Yellow Creek Community in Robbinsville, N.C., and Parrish, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was the son of the late Roy and Ruth Grimshaw Perron.

Avis Carver Pressley

Avis Carver Pressley, 62 of the Dick Branch community in Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Grady and Flonnie Collins Carver.
