Maxine Brooks Orr, 85 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Robbinsville, N.C. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Eula Orr Brooks.

Sue Ella Bullock

Sue Ella Bullock, 80, of Lutz, Fla., formerly of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Morris and Catherine Dell Rogers Hubbard.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.J. Bullock.

Marie Gladys Moore

Marie Gladys Moore passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021, in Warrenton, Va. She was born Dec. 30, 1921 in Robbinsville, N.C., to Abe and Julie Jordan Postell.  Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband for over 40 years, Andrew Jackson Moore, Sr.

Harvey Wendell Seay

Harvey Wendell Seay, age 78 of Robbinsville, N.C, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Harvey was born on Sept. 30, 1942, to the late Early and Inez Sellers Seay.

Slow turnout in candidate filing

Filing for the 2021 municipal elections ends at noon Friday. And as of 2 p.m. Tuesday, only six of the 14 seats up for grabs have received interest.

Robbinsville – The Robbinsville Board of Aldermen voted unanimously to begin the annexation process for a Tallulah Road property, accepting an annexation petition for certification by Town Clerk Sonya Webster.

Mrs. Peggy Ann Farrow, 72 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Monday, June 28, 2021. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her, especially by everyone that knew her by “Nanny Peggy.” She took great joy in being Nanny Peggy. Mrs. Farrow was born in Robbinsville, N.C.
