Raymond David Williams Sr., 72 of the Fort Hill community in Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Friday May 7, 2021 at his residence. He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Leonard Williams and Zelma Lee Jenkins Rogers.

Frankie Bailey, 82 of the Stecoah community in Robbinsville, N.C., had a change of address on Monday, July 26, 2021. She no longer resides at 237 Dry Creek Road, but is now residing in her new mansion on the Streets of Gold by the banks of the River Jordan.

Superintendent discusses adjunct instructor bill

As a bill in the General Assembly allowing for adjunct instructors in public schools becomes law, Graham County Schools Superintendent Angie Knight said she saw some ways that the district could take advantage of the new rules.  Gov. Roy Cooper signed Senate Bill 582 into law on June 21.

Cherokee language program could return

Robbinsville – “Get ‘em young” is a mantra often used to describe instilling positive values into children at a young age. With that sentiment in mind, Graham County students might once again have access to learning the Cherokee language at Robbinsville Elementary School.

Alvin Edward Crisp

Alvin Edwin Crisp, 45 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 19, 2021, in Dalton, Ga.  He was the son of Sheila Lynn Crisp and the late Rev. Luther Crisp, who passed away on April 28, 2021.

Mary Ethel Farr Orr, 95 of the Ground Squirrel Community of Robbinsville, N.C. passed away, Friday, July 16, 2021, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Roscoe and Tina Millsaps Farr.

Nancy Robinson Brittain

Nancy Robinson Brittain from Mars Hill, N.C. died July 15, 2021. She was 76 years old. Nancy was a graduate of Mars Hill University and a state retiree. She was the daughter of the late Ruth Kennerly Robinson and Drew Robinson of Leicester.
