Chyneer Turpin Burchfield, 82 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Saturday, June 29, 2021, at her daughter’s residence in Dalton, Ga. She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Frank and Doshia Anderson Turpin.

Connie Farley Williams, 55 of the Farley Branch Community of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 25, 2021, at her residence. She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Erskine and Pauline Odom Farley.

Burlin J. Carpenter, age 86, son of Clay and Mary Farley Carpenter, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at his residence.  He was born Nov. 8, 1934 in Robbinsville, N.C., where he grew up.

David Bland

David Parker Bland passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021, in Orgasa Peso, Texas.  He was the son of Worth Livingston Bland and Anne Whitener Bland of Rutherfordton, N.C., and the brother of Sylvia Lovelace, Jo Denton and the late Dot Webster.

Local woman arrested on identity theft charges

A Robbinsville woman was arrested in Jackson County, after allegedly spending more than $2,000 out of another person’s bank account.  Court documents show that 34-year-old Danielli Nichole Adams – who has a listed address of 2719 Massey Branch Road – allegedly stole $2,322.

A Graham County educator was able to further outfit her classroom, thanks to a grant from a well-known fast food chain.

Robbinsville – It has been nothing short of a contentious stint since Shaun Adams was elected to the Robbinsville Board of Aldermen in 2017. Adams’ recent absence from town meetings – 18 in total, across a 16-month span – came to an end with his return to the June 2 meeting.
