Arthur Ray Carver, 63 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC. He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late James Claude Carver and Bonnie Marie Coe.

Bonnie Stinnett, 94 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Robbinsville, N.C. She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Rube and Sarah Jane Naillon Sharpe.

Deborah Ellen Sheffey Cable, 66 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away peacefully at 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C., after a very short illness with B-Cell Lymphoma caused by a prescribed medication for Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Grants to fix town’s ‘at risk’ system

Tommy Carver, 61 and a native of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, following complications from cardiac arrest. Tommy was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and strengthened his faith by enrolling and completing many Bible courses throughout the last 20 years.

Church restoration still underway

John Alvin McRae, 67 of the Atoah Community in Robbinsville, N.C., passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, after a short illness. John was born Dec. 31, 1954, at the Parrette Clinic. He was the son of Leoah Icenhower McRae and the late Huel McRae.

Ingles application seeking state approval

Robbinsville – The Town of Robbinsville has forwarded the first beer and wine application to the state since the November 2021 election, when residents voted to resume some alcohol sales for the first time since 1948.

Athletes help feed veterans at Asheville homeless shelter

Asheville – A group of 10 Robbinsville athletes and a coach traveled to Asheville on Dec. 30 to prepare and serve meals to homeless veterans at a shelter there.
