'A school bus is hard to miss'

A frightening amount of school bus violations has the N.C. Highway Patrol reeling. Since the 2019-20 school year commenced in August, there have been nine documented instances of drivers passing stopped school buses in Graham County.

Robbinsville –  As the national ACT date approaches, schools across the country are focused on preparing for the exam. Robbinsville High School is no exception.  Juniors at the school took the test Tuesday.

Williams resigns from council

Fontana Dam – Tracy Williams’ second stint as a town council member has came to an end. During the Feb. 15 Town of Fontana Dam council meeting, it was revealed that Williams had resigned from his seat, effective immediately. The decision was amicable, as Williams cited personal issues for the move.

Conway, Corbin vying for Senate seat

Two Republican Party candidates are vying for N.C. Senate District 50 in Tuesday’s election.  The winner of this primary will run against Democratic Party candidate Victoria Fox and Libertarian candidate Clifton Ingram Jr. in the general election Tuesday, Nov. 3.
