Lonnie Elvin Collins, 70 of Murphy, N.C., passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 at his residence. He was a native of Jacksonville, Fla., where he had lived until moving to North Carolina in 1995. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was a Vietnam veteran.

Tosha Lynn McCarter

Tosha Lynn McCarter, 35 of Sevierville, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Robbinsville, N.C. and a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. She worked as a CNA and loved helping anyone in need. She loved her husband and her daughters.

Rex Laverne Sellers

Rex Laverne Sellers, 60 of Robbinsville, N.C. passed away, Monday, Nov. 28, 2021. He was a native of Graham County and the son of Edward Sellers and the late Dorothy Odom Sellers. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra “Cookie” Stewart and Donna Elaine Sellers.

James Pringle Ewing

James Pringle Ewing, 80 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021. He was 80. James was born Nov. 16, 1941, to the late Margaret McMurray Ewing and John Ewing in Philadelphia, Pa. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dorothy Marie Silvers

Dorothy Marie Silvers, 91 of the Beech Creek Community of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021 at Graham Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.                   She was the daughter of the late Elza and Hattie Farr Silvers.

James Howard Brooks

James Howard Brooks, 93 and a lifelong resident of the Old Tallulah community of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at Mountain View Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bryson City, N.C., surrounded by his daughters and grandchildren.

Janie Darlene Gibson

Janie Darlene Gibson, 56 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, N.C. She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of John Gibson of Hartwell, Ga., and the late Francis Luenia Gibson.

Jack D. Phillips

Jack D. Phillips, 93, died peacefully at his home in Springfield, Mass., on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Angel Hospital in Franklin, N.C., on Oct. 27, 1928, he was the eldest of four children of John Dillard and Erma Phillips.

Pearl Bailey Williams

Pearl Bailey Williams, 78 of the Stecoah community in Robbinsville, N.C. passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at her residence. She was a native of Graham County, and the daughter of the late Clyde and Vergie Tipton Bailey.

Edna Hooper Moody

Edna Hooper Moody, 88 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Maggie Valley, N.C. Edna was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Milburn and Emma Hyde Hooper.
