Robbinsville – The Class of 2021 – which has missed out on prom and several other traditional milestones, due to COVID-19 – was treated to a Senior Sunrise Celebration on Wednesday, March 3.

Lots of time in the woods

Saturday and Sunday was a busy time for local fire and rescue personnel, as they were involved in a number of missions. Early Saturday afternoon, the Graham County 911 dispatcher received a call from a hiker who had become ill in the Wolf Laurel section of Big Santeetlah.

Robbinsville – After some discussion in a special meeting Friday, the Graham County Board of Commissioners has tabled discussion on purchasing new lights for the Robbinsville High School football field, pending more information.

Lucy Morgan Wright

Lucy Morgan Wright, 79, of Fontana Dam, N.C., passed peacefully in her sleep, at home on her beloved mountain Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021.  Lucy was the only child of the late Billy and Marguerite Boyd Morgan, of Murray, Ky.

Edna Phillips

Edna Orr Phillips, 91, our precious “Nan,” went home on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021.  She came face-to-face with the Master, and she was able to give her nephew Gary – who had gone on 38 years earlier, on the same day – a message from his mom.
