Secret to success

Robbinsville – If you want to trace the recent uptick in success for Lady Knights’ softball, it all starts downtown. For the past 2 ½ years, Brian “Petey” Millsaps has operated “The Rock,” an indoor softball facility.

Robbinsville recognizes athletic award winners

Robbinsville High School was unable to have its annual sports awards banquet. Instead, a recently released YouTube video appeared on the school’s Digital Media page, with athletic director Dee Walsh recognizing the 2019-20 award winners.

Robbinsville – When Graham County Schools announced its return-to-school plan on July 27, Superintendent Angie Knight stressed that the schedule could be altered. Exactly one week later, the system did just that.

Guidelines released for graduation

Robbinsville High School announced the protocol for the Class of 2020 commencement exercise, which is set for Saturday, July 18. The ceremony will take place at Modeal Walsh Memorial Stadium, beginning at 10 a.m.

Graduation is still on

Robbinsville – The recent directive by Gov. Roy Cooper – for North Carolina to remain in Phase Two of COVID-19 re-opening protocol – had Graham County seniors fearing the worst. Under Phase Two, mass gatherings are limited to 25 people outdoors and 10 indoors.

Robbinsville High awards senior students

Robbinsville – It is normally a highly attended, smile-filled event. However, as with everything else in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic forced Robbinsville High School to get creative with its annual senior awards ceremony.

Date set for graduation

Robbinsville – After much anticipation, the Robbinsville High School Class of 2020 can finally rest easy. Graham County Schools announced Tuesday afternoon that a commencement ceremony is set to be held at Modeal Walsh Memorial (Big Oaks) Stadium on Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m.

Senior project awards announced

Robbinsville – Robbinsville High School would like to recognize the following students for their outstanding work on their senior projects, in which students demonstrate skills learned throughout high school to complete either job-shadowing or community-service hours.
