May 8, 1980 * The Black Knights track & field team won the Smoky Mountain Conference title meet, tallying 92 points. Among the highlights were Ricky Stiles winning the long jump, 100-meter dash and hurdles; and Sam Crisp prevailing in both the shot put and discus throw.
