New county EMS director hired

At long last, Graham County EMS will officially welcome a new director. Following the resignation of longtime EMS Director Larry Hembree on Sept. 30, County Clerk Kim Crisp approved the hire of Phillip Boyle as the county’s new EMS director. Boyle is scheduled to begin his new job on Monday.

Nettie Louise Holder

Nettie Louise Holder, 74, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021. She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of Dock and Laura Campbell Williams.

Sherryl Cable

Sherryl Denise Cable of Tuskeegee, N.C. went home peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021. She was preceded to her eternal home by her father, Ben F. Crisp, also of Tuskeegee.

William Wolfram

William C. “Bill” Wolfram, 76 of the Atoah Road community of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at Asheville Specialty Hospital in Asheville, N.C. He was a native of Wisconsin, but has lived in Robbinsville for several years.

Samuel Shope, Jr.

Samuel Shope, Jr., age 55 of Robbinsville, N.C. passed away, Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, N.C. He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Samuel and Willa Bell Moore Shope.

William Grant

William E. Grant “Bill” 84, went home to be with the Lord on the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, in the presence of his family. Bill was the son of Mack W. and Berta Grant.

Christine Zervas

Christine Zervas, 86, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, humanitarian, master quilter and Christian. Christine was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community.

Graham County Schools welcomes Erlanger clinic

Robbinsville – Graham County schools students and staff needing several healthcare services now have the option of receiving it on school property.  On Tuesday morning, the ribbon was officially cut on the Erlanger Western Carolina school-based clinic, located at Robbinsville Elementary School.

Skyway crashes result in fatalities
