One arrested in sizable drug bust

A Georgia man remains behind bars in Graham County after allegedly being caught trafficking drugs. At a license checking station on Sept.

Pamela Denise Patterson

Pamela Denise Patterson, 51 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at her residence, after a long fight with lung disease. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of D.L. and Margaret Orr.

Michael Oliver

Michael Thomas Oliver, 42 of the Sweetwater Community in Robbinsville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Atrium Health in Charlotte, N.C. He was the son of the late George and Margaret Hooper Oliver.

Jason Best

Jason Best, 37 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn.   He was a native of Graham County and the son of Nettie Blevins Jordan.

Ronald Jenkins

Ronald Steve Jenkins, of Humble, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021. He was the son of Hilda Sawyer Jenkins of Stecoah, N.C. and the late Frazier Jenkins.

Town aldermen approve part purchase for water plant

Robbinsville – A component of one of Robbinsville’s water plants will be replaced, following approval from the board of aldermen.  The board approved the purchase of a new altimeter valve for the plant by a 2-0 vote at a brief, special-called meeting on Sept. 16.

Fontana Dam searching for new water plant operator

Fontana Dam – A local municipality is again searching for a new utilities director and water treatment plant operator. Jason Duke was dismissed from the position Aug. 24, following a domestic incident that ended with the arrest of his wife earlier in August.

Alleged kidnappers, victim arrested

Two men from out of state were arrested in Graham County after an alleged kidnapping, with their alleged victim also picking up a drug charge.  Warrants show that 34-year-old Mohammad Hassan Kheradmand of St. Petersburg, Fla. and 31-year-old Michael Bazarov of Washington, D.C.
