James Edward Graham, 85 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020. James was born April 14, 1935 in Greeneville, Tenn., the son of the late Sam L. Graham and Ruth C. Collins. He was a retired U.S.

Eric Thomas Hardison, 69, passed in peace in the early morning hours of Sept. 2, 2020, with his loving family by his side. He is dearly missed by his wife of 48 years, four sons, daughter, grandchildren and his chocolate lab.

Dustin Kyle Sellers, 36, of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 31, 2020. He was the son of Darlene and Clark Lovingood of Murphy, N.C., and Roger and Michelle Sellers of Navarre, Fla.; and the grandson of Vincent and Mildred Adams of Robbinsville, N.C.

County, Stecoah discuss new lease

Robbinsville – The renewal of a lease between Graham County and the Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center needs to be completed within the next month. All indicators are that the final paperwork will come just in time.

Peggy Roena Nichols Phillips Sutton, 84 of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 24, 2020 at her residence.   Peggy was born in Cherokee County, N.C. to the late Frank Thorton and Mary Phillips Nichols.

Marjorie Ann Fann, 73 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Joe and Nora Carringer Fann.

Paul Crocker

Dwight Paul Crocker, 72 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at Care Partners Health Services in Asheville, N.C. Paul had made Graham County his home for several years, but he was a native of Jackson County, Ala.

Santeetlah hires new zoning administrator

Lake Santeetlah – Just a couple of weeks removed from agreeing to hire a new zoning administrator, the town moved forward with finalizing the paperwork. At a special called meeting on Aug. 24, council members discussed Bryan Farley’s contract.

Nursing home resident tests positive

Following the reveal that two nursing home employees tested positive for COVID-19, eight more residents were recorded positive in Graham last week, which included a resident at Graham Healthcare & Rehabilitation receiving a positive return Friday.
