Michelle Renee Anderson, 51, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 13, 2020, after a long fight with cancer. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of DL and Margaret Myers Orr.

Kay Nuchols

Kay Frances Gregory Nuchols, 73, of the West Buffalo Community in Robbinsville, N.C. went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at her residence. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of Floyd Garrison and Rosie Crane Gregory.

Anthony James Tahnoose

Anthony James Tahnoose, age 69 of Warren, Mich., passed away, Thursday, June 11, 2020.  He was a native of Detroit, Mich. and the son of the late Tony and Bea Orr Tahnoose. He was the grandson of the late Wince and Alice Orr, and Zhebreen “Jack” and Susie Tahnoose.

Graham County, Brookfield $71 million apart

Brookfield Renewable Partners has lost its appeal on the values that have been placed on its Graham County assets. The Toronto-based company began the process of appealing to the Graham County Board of Equalization and Review on April 28, with the second conference taking place May 26.

Commissioners adopt $15 million budget

Robbinsville – Graham County will operate on a budget totaling $15,762,076 for the 2020-21 fiscal year. The county’s Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the budget as presented by county manager Becky Garland at Tuesday’s meeting.

Local man charged with larceny

Stecoah – A Tuskegee man was arrested June 5 on charges of larceny. Benjamin Gary Laney, 31 of 1517 Upper Tuskegee Road, was booked on felony larceny, and breaking and/or entering charges.
