Lucille Jenkins Phillips, 76 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at Graham Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Dolly Burchfield Jenkins.

Matthew Stan Miller

Matthew Stan Miller, 40 of the Beech Creek community of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, in a house fire, after saving his mother and niece while attempting to rescue their beloved dog Scrappy. He was a native of Dekalb County, Ga.

Matthew Jason Moon

Matthew Jason Moon, 37, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022. He was the most loving, devoted father to Maddux Jordan Moon and Mattison Jasmine Moon. They were his entire world. He fought a long, hard battle of cancer and survived.

Jackie Slaughter

Jackie Slaughter, 59 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. He was a native of Graham County, and the son of the late Billy and Bennie Sue Millsaps Slaughter.

Nancy S. Meeker

Nancy S. Meeker, 79 of Alpharetta, Ga., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022. Nancy was born on Feb. 8, 1943 in Chicago, Ill., and grew up in Chicago and Glenview, Ill., where she graduated from New Trier High School.

Marvin K. Jones, Sr.

Marvin Kenneth Jones, Sr., passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022. Though his passing was sudden and unexpected, it was extremely peaceful. He was the beloved husband of Helen Plemmons Jones Thompson; father of Marvin Kenneth Jones, Jr.

John J. Denzer, Jr.

John J. Denzer, Jr., 68, passed away in the arms of his family on June 29,  2022. God saw John was tired, when a cure for his cancer was not to be had here on Earth.

Shirley Sherrill, 86 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Graham County, and the daughter of the late Jack and Ada Phillips Odom.

William Robert (Bob) Allmond

William Robert Allmond, (Bob) 87 of Lake Santeetlah, N.C., went home to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at Murphy Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born in Millen, Ga., on Sept. 27, 1935, the son of the late William Robert Allmond and Annie Allmond Wiggins.

Nettie Jean Eller Lewis

Nettie Jean Eller Lewis, 80 of the I U Gap community in Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, N.C. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Rufus (Red) and Amy Ethel Carver Eller.
