Chicago family rescued Christmas Day

Big Santeetlah – The Graham County Rescue Squad and U.S. Forest Service teamed up for a Christmas Day rescue of a family stranded in the snow at Swan Cabin in the Wolf Laurel section of Graham County.

A look back at 2020

The dawn of the new decade was seemingly dominated by a worldwide pandemic. And while the coronavirus has certainly made its presence felt in the area, Graham County still had a bevy of impactful events occur within its borders.

Accident sends one to hospital

Tallulah – A local man is recuperating in Chattanooga, after sustaining serious injuries in a car crash on Tallulah Road on the night of Dec.14.  According to an accident report provided by the N.C.

Ann Marie Paige, child of God, passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, after a brief illness. Ann was born on April 24, 1965 to James and Eldred Paige of Stecoah, N.C., deceased.

Mary Ann Christiansen

Mary Ann Hyde Christiansen, 75 of the Dick Branch Community in Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Glenn and Nettie Louise Hedrick Hyde.

Ted Norcross, Jr.

On Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, Ted McKillip Norcross, Jr. – loving husband and father of three children – passed at the age of 79.  Ted was born on March 15, 1941 in Miami, Fla. to Ted McKillip Norcross, Sr. and Marie Norcross. He grew up in Miami, Fla.
