William Jack Rogers, 85 of Tallulah Road in Robbinsville, N.C. passed away, Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at his residence. He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late William Robert and Edna Colvard Rogers.

Logan Millsaps

Logan Millsaps, 22 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021.  He was the son of the late Jerry and Tina Evans Millsaps.

DSS grappling with court date issues

Robbinsville – Graham County – as well as others in the N.C. Parent of Social Services, District 30 – are contending with a larger than average number of children in the foster care system and a lower number of court days per month.

Roy Lee Smith, 57 of Circle Street in Robbinsville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at his residence. He was a native of Graham County, and the son of Mandalline Mashburn Smith and the late Jessie Leroy Smith.

JoAnn Greene

On Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, JoAnn Buchanan Greene, 84, went home to be with the Lord, while many of her family and friends were by her side.  She was a native of Graham County, where she lived her entire life.

Tourism office rolls out new maps

Visitors to Graham County will now have a stronger authority on where to go and what to see locally, as the Graham County Travel and Tourism Authority rolls out its new county maps.  Last week, the new county folding maps and  tear off maps premiered.

Town continues fight against mold issues

Robbinsville – More work will soon be put toward the ongoing battle against mold at Robbinsville Town Hall. Mayor Steve Hooper gave an update on the issue at the town’s monthly meeting Jan. 6, which at one point sickened an employee and has been going on for the past several months.

Jason Earl Lequire, 39 of the Stecoah Community of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 in New Hampshire. He was the son of Kathy Daniels Cody and Danny Cody of the Stecoah Community, and Mackie Lequire of Robbinsville, N.C.
