Ending on a high note

Eleven years ago, the position of music director at Graham County Schools made the transition from Joseph Earp to a new, fresh-out-of-college director, Jameson Stout.  As a senior in high school, Stout’s band program underwent a director transition.

Jade Jenkins

Jade Noelle Jenkins was born at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho on April 24. She weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long.  Jade is the daughter of Frank and Mallory Jenkins of Spring Creek, Nev.

‘My talking points are not just talking points’

Robbinsville – Madison Cawthorn’s mission statement is simple. “I will not forget my constituents,” Cawthorn said to a crowd of about 40 voters gathered outside the Graham County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.  Early voting begins today for the U.S.

Rev. Kevin Brooks

The Rev. Kevin Brooks, 48 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 22, 2020 at his residence, while surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Bobby and Roma Phillips Brooks of Robbinsville, N.C.

Date set for graduation

Robbinsville – After much anticipation, the Robbinsville High School Class of 2020 can finally rest easy. Graham County Schools announced Tuesday afternoon that a commencement ceremony is set to be held at Modeal Walsh Memorial (Big Oaks) Stadium on Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m.

Eliza L. Simons

Eliza (Liz) L. Simons, 92, of Jacksonville, Fla. – formerly of Robbinsville, N.C. and Fairbury, Ill. – passed away at 7:58 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at her residence in Jacksonville, Fla.  She will be buried in Yellow Creek Cemetery in Robbinsville, N.C. Graveside services are pending.
