Crews locate lost man

Cherohala – A man was rescued Monday afternoon on the upper reaches of Huffman Creek, after making a wrong turn with his vehicle.  Graham County 911 dispatchers were made aware of a man stuck in a rough place on a dirt road around 3:30 p.

One year later, still no answers

Big Santeetlah – Even though a year has passed, there are still few answers available on the drowning death of a Federal Bureau of Investigation forensic photographer in Graham County.

Wallace Williams

Wallace Williams, 81 of Sharon, S.C. passed away on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020. Wallace was born on Jan. 6, 1939 in Robbinsville, N.C. He was the son of the late J. Marion Williams and Stacy Jackson Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers.

Ruby Lovin

Ruby Hyde Lovin, 94 of the Atoah Community of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, at her residence. She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Granville and Maggie Jenkins Hyde. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, O.B.

Bo Parris

James “Bo” Parris, 85 of the Big Cove community in Cherokee, walked through Heaven’s Gates on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020.  Bo was born in Tryon, Ga. on Jan. 8, 1935.

Annie Welch

Annie Belle Welch, 72 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Graham County, and the daughter of the late Henry and Bessie Smoker Jumper.

Richard Carver

Richard “Dagger” Carver, 63 of the East Buffalo Community in Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. Tenn. A native of Graham County, he was the son of Willa Mae Allen Carver and the late Mack Carver.

Kenneth Beasley

Kenneth Beasley, 72 of Muscle Shoals, Ala.,  passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020. Kenneth was the eldest son of the late Hudson and Pearlene Beasley of Robbinsville, N.C.

Susie Phillips

Susie Phillips, 63 of the Atoah Community of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020, at her residence. She was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late Robert and Maude Neal Guffey.
