Robbinsville Elementary moving to Plan A

Robbinsville – Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 13, Robbinsville Elementary School will operate under “Plan A.” The Graham County Board of Education unanimously approved the shift at a special called meeting Sept. 23, held inside the Robbinsville High School Theater.  The decision was propelled by Gov.

Reba Phillips Jordan

Reba Phillips Jordan, 87 of Robbinsville, N.C., went to her heavenly home, Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Graham County, and the daughter of the late Patton and Laura Orr Phillips.

Emma Waldroup

Emma Millsaps Waldroup, 91 of the Ollies Creek community, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Robbinsville.

Roxie Farley

Roxie McMahan Carver Farley, 98 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020 at Clear Creek Nursing Center in Mint Hill, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Harvey and Easter Bivens McMahan.

Tony Crisp

Tony C. Crisp, 76 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020 at his residence, after an extended illness. A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late William Verlie and Alma Rogers Crisp.

Personnel complete pair of search missions

Hikers have kept regional emergency personnel busy for most of 2020. Officials with the Graham County Rescue Squad, U.S. Forest Service and the Monroe County, Tenn. Rescue Squad and EMS were dispatched to a pair of separate incidents last week, both of which began in Graham County.
