Laqueta “Quet” Hooper Waldroup, 80, of Robbinsville, went home to be the Lord Saturday, May 2, 2020 at her residence.   “Quet” was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late John Ben and Edna Thompson Waldroup.

Glenda Palmer Farley

Glenda Palmer Farley left this planet on Thursday, April 30, 2020.  She leaves behind a loving family and many friends. Gene, her beloved husband, shared a wonderful life with Glenda. And out of that love came Landon, their son. A son who never ceased to amaze and delight each of them.

Beatrice A. Postell

Beatrice A. Postell, age 94, a resident of Riceville, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Soddy Daisy Health Care Center in Soddy Daisy, Tenn. She was a native of Graham County, N.C., but resided in Riceville for most of her retired life.

Tracey Saunooke

Tracey Lee Saunooke, 47, of the Snowbird Community, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 at her residence. She is survived her mother, Lynda Saunooke; the love of her life, Sonny Holder; her aunts Marion (Jody) Taylor and husband Jonah of Cherokee, N.C. and Laura Saunooke of Robbinsville, N.C.

Erma Nichols Hallyburton

Erma Nichols Hallyburton passed away Monday, April 20 at the Jesse Helms long term care facility in Monroe, N.C. at the age of 104.  Born in Robbinsville, N.C. in 1916, her father was Harrison Nichols and her mother Faye Jones.

Clyde Chapman

Clyde Kent Chapman, Jr., 88 of Andrews, N.C., formerly of Whitney Point, N.Y., went home to be with His Lord on Monday, April 20.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Kent Chapman Sr. and Anna Neal Chapman, and brother, Richard Neal Chapman.

James Colvard

James “Jim” Edward Colvard, Ph.D, 87, of King George, Va. died at home on March 10, 2020.  He was born on March 16, 1932 in the hills of Robbinsville, N.C., to the late Thomas Jefferson Colvard and Martha Evelyn Ellis Colvard. He often joked with family that his obituary should just be “Jim died.

Johnny Sluder

Johnny Edward Sluder, age 77 of Robbinsville, N.C. went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 17, 2020. Johnny was born in Swain County, N.C. on June 19, 1942. He was the son of the late John and Helen Hall Sluder.

Nolan Turpin

Nolan Earl Turpin, 75, of Robbinsville N.C., passed away at his residence surrounded by family and friends on April 7, 2020. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and a friend to many.

Joyce Gale Whaley

Joyce Gale (Miller) Whaley, 57, of Kodak, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Mamaw, and friend. She was a devoted member of The Crossing Church in Kodak and was instrumental in leading many people to the Lord.
